This is a thin version of the traditional Greek orthodox komboskini (4mm), the Greek Prayer Rope.

Religious Bracelet similar to the Rosary, known as Komboskini (translated to string with knots). Used to count prayers, this bracelet is handmade in Greece at Mt. Athos.

Not to be confused with the common elastic style of this popular religious bracelet.  These are the "wax" treated version that stretches to your wrist size and then stretches back using the rolling method.
