Mastihashop chios mastiha loukoumia, made from starch and sugar, is a confection very popular amongst people of all ages, not only in Greece but in the whole Mediterranean region. This traditional jelly-like delight is served with coffee or tea, or with a glass of cold water as a welcome treat in Greek households.  Developed from the Chios island pastry makers, this old recipe combines rose petals from local orchards with loukoumi.
